It’s time to begin planning for Dunnellon’s Small Town Christmas Parade, which will be themed “Lights, Camera Christmas.”
The parade will be on December 5 at 5 pm. It will begin near Dunnellon Middle School and travel down Cedar Street and up Pennsylvania Avenue in Dunnellon before ending at San Jose Boulevard, just past Blue Run Park.
Parade float/unit applications can be picked up at the Dunnellon Chamber & Business Association office at 20500 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, and will be due on December 1.

Parade Safety
OK, folks, so how do we have a safe parade when we have our Dunnellon Small Town Christmas Parade on December 5 at 5 pm? We met with Dunnellon Police Chief Mike McQuaig to discuss this. He is our emergency operations manager.
The first thing we did was eliminate the celebration after the parade. Hopefully we will be able to bring this back in 2021 since we know how much fun the children have on the ice slide and when we light up the big tree. There just is no easy way for people to social distance at an event such as our celebration.
The second thing we did is expand the staging area. In the past, we staged the parade at either Dunnellon Middle School or First Baptist Church. (Occasionally we used both). This year, we will use both for sure.
The third thing we want to talk about is the parade route itself. We did not change the route, but we would like the public to take into consideration a few things:
Families can be together along the route.
Please maintain a social distance from people other than your own family.
Masks are encouraged.
Attend at your own risk. If you or anyone in your family is at risk, please stay home and enjoy the event from your house. We will be livestreaming the parade just like always.
Have a good time but a safe time!
Check out this video from Pastor Tom Golden of RiverLife Church. He is extremely excited about the parade.
We hope to see all of you at our parade on December 5! Like our Facebook page Dunnellon Christmas Parade for information, updates and photos of past parades.
DCBA ribbon cuttings are available to Chamber Members Monday – Thursday between the hours of 11 AM – 5 PM and MUST be confirmed and approved in advance by the Dunnellon Chamber & Business Association, so, that we may cerify the availability of the Dunnellon Chamber officials and the materials for the event.
