It’s hard to understand just how blessed we are to be a part of this community until you start thinking about the things that happen consistently in our community. Some of these things, when you think of them, seem impossible to accomplish. When you then have a year like 2020, a year full of stress, crises, worry and fear, and you see individuals and groups take action, you begin to see that there is a little bit of magic happening here next to the Rainbow River.
Such is the case when you consider how many folks were nominated for the DCBA’s customer service award this year. So many businesses, but also churches and individuals were nominated that we decided that maybe we should instead call it the “unsung hero” award. So that’s what we will do from now on. It was incredible how many folks started their answer with “Can I nominate a church?” or “Can I nominate an individual?” or “Does it have to be a business because…”
It takes a village, and the following folks (and more) are all part of our village.
The following are among the unsung heroes who went the extra mile for our community on 2020:
Michel Yeuell, Dunnellon Elementary School
Publix Rainbow Square Shopping Center
Empowered ATA Family Martial Arts
Cruise Planners – Miller’s World Travel
Dunnellon Community Church
Dunnellon Tire & Auto
Advantage Primary Care
Ink Spot Media
Rainbow River Medical
Riverland News
River Life Church
Sweeties’ Cafe & Bakery
Paula DiPaula
Southern Palate Restaurant & Catering
We have included some of the quotes from their nominees. Take a look at these businesses, churches and individuals, and if you get a chance, say thank you!
